Troy finds Annie's gun
Annie's gun.
Annie's gun was a firearm Annie purchased as protection from unsavory elements that populated the shady neighborhood she once lived in. She kept the weapon in her purse which in an alternate timeline proved to be not such a wise choice. Its first and only appearance was in the Season Three episode "Remedial Chaos Theory".

History[]

In the study group's second year at Greendale, it's revealed that Annie lived in a rundown apartment right above a Dildopolis store ("Celebrity Pharmacology 212"). It was stated by not only herself but also her friends to be located in a "bad neighborhood", most likely in the red light district. Despite Annie's dismissal to everyone of the dangerous nature of where she lived, she clearly had concern for her safety. She even took some self defense courses at school and bought a firearm. Although she was open about her martial arts studies ("Paradigms of Human Memory"), Annie's gun was something she kept a secret from the study group.

In the Fall 2011 semester at school, Troy and Abed decided to move in together and invited the other study group members to a housewarming party at their new apartment to celebrate the occasion. Visitors needed to be buzzed in to be let inside, which proved a problem when the pizza delivery guy arrived. As all the study group members had already settled in to a table about to play Yahtzee, they were all reluctant to downstairs to grab the pizza. Jeff came up with a solution to roll a die; starting on his left where he was seated and counting down from whatever number came up would randomly decide who would be forced to go. Abed suggested the rolling of the die will cause six different timelines to unfold.

In one version of events, Jeff ignored his warning and rolled a two, creating a timeline where Annie had to go. While she was away, she left her purse behind and Troy noticed a gun inside and pulled it out for everyone to see. Jeff placed it back inside the bag and opted to ignore it. In another timeline created by Jeff's roll of the dice, a series of unfortunate events led to the gun being accidentally shot. Pierce kicked his house warming present to Troy into Annie's purse. The gun inside went off and shot Pierce in the leg. He bled profusely, and eventually "died" from his leg wound. Annie was devastated and ended up being institutionalized due to her guilt, causing Abed to declare this to be the "Darkest Timeline" ("Remedial Chaos Theory").

Trivia[]

.38 Special[]

Judging from the brief glimpse of it, Annie's gun in real life is either a nickel-plated Smith & Wesson Model 36 Chiefs Special or a Smith & Wesson Model 60, which is the stainless-steel version of the Model 36. This can be determined by the Smith & Wesson-specific unshrouded ejector rod and latch underneath the barrel. Both are .38-caliber handguns known for their size and concealability as well as their reliability. They are also often utilized by both law enforcement and private citizens who have a concealed carry permit. Either gun retails for around $350 or more.
