"Boob-A-Tron is great. And once someone spills bong water on his circuits, he's going to come to life and make us the coolest guys on campus."--Abed
The B.A.T. robot was created by Abed and Troy in "The Art of Discourse". Despite his goofy appearance, he is an unstoppable machine to be feared, programmed with a single purpose in mind... BOOBS.
In the Season One episode "The Art of Discourse" Troy offers to help Abed cross off items on his college experience checklist. One of those items is the creation of a robot that they dub Boob-A-Tron 4000. Abed hopes that it will one day come to life just like in the movies. Troy and Abed perform a test run, using the robot on a carwash held by the Kappa Eta Sigma's sorority. Apparently, the robot was a big success as all three are later seen wearing togas, possibly indicating they had just come from a fraternity party of some kind. In the Season Two episode "Paradigms of Human Memory" an upgrade to the original Boob-A-Tron named Boob-A-Tron 6000 can be seen during one of Annie's flashbacks. Because of Pierce, it malfunctioned and was now rampaging through the hallways of Greendale. Its primary objective was still intact as it had targeted Annie and was about to go after her; Jeff managed to grab her and lead her to safety. Its current whereabouts are unknown.
The prototype Boob-A-Tron 4000 featured in "The Art of Discourse" was basically an upside-down garbage can with wheels attached. Its overall appearance, particularly the head, seemed to be modeled after Johnny Five from the 1986 movie "Short Circuit".
