Brie Larson (born Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers) is an American actress and singer/song writer. She was born on October 1, 1989 in Sacramento, California the daughter of chiropractors who had a practice together. Early in her childhood her parents divorced and she moved with her mother and sister to Los Angeles. Brie started studying drama at the early age of 6 and was the youngest student ever to attend the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. At age 13, Brie landed her first record deal at Universal Records with the famous music executive Tommy Mottola. Her first release in 2005 led to a nationwide tour. She landed the first of many television roles on shows like "Raising Dad" and the Disney Channel movie "Right on Track". She would later make appearances in feature films such as "13 Going on 30", "Sleepover" and "Hoot". She is perhaps best known for her roles as "Katherine "Kate" Gregson" on the Showtime original series "The United States of Tara" and as "Envy Adams" in the 2010 cult film "Scott Pilgrim VS The World" . She recently received much acclaim for her performance in the 2013 movie "Short Term 12".
