In Season Three of Community, the song "Daybreak" by Michal Haggins is featured in several episodes. The song was originally released on 2005 album also titled "Daybreak" by the independent label Cuate Records Corporation. Haggins, an American Jazz bassist and song writer, has had his work used in other primetime network programs such "Happy Endings" on ABC and "Raising Hope" on FOX. It is unclear why the song was used throughout the season, but perhaps the Season Three DVD commentaries will shed some light on the matter. It was first heard in the episode "Horror Fiction in Seven Spooky Steps". Michael Haggins' official website can be found here.

On August 28, 2012, Megan Ganz tweeted that Michael Haggins visited the set of Community, leading to speculation that he will have a cameo in a Season Four episode. The tweet also reveals that Daybreak is Abed's favorite song.
