Joel McHale is the Italian-born actor who portrays Jeff Winger on Community. He was born in Rome, Italy but raised in Seattle where he graduated from Mercer Island High School. Soon after he joined the cast of other Seattle-based comedians for the Comedy Central skit-show Almost Live! in 1995. After he left the show in 1998, Joel completed the Actor's Training Masters Program at The University of Washington. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he currently lives with his wife and two sons. Joel was known for being the host of E!'s The Soup, a weekly entertainment news show that discusses and makes fun of television, specifically reality television, and celebrity culture. Joel was a producer and writer for the series as well. He has also held roles in the television series Will & Grace, CSI: Miami, and Robot Chicken, as well as appearing in the movies Spider-Man 2, Lords of Dogtown, 2009's The Informant!, 2016's The X-Files and The Great Indoors. In 2018 he hosted the Netflix show "The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale" from February 18th until it’s cancellation later that year on August 17th [1]. |
