Matthew Richard Lucas is an English comedian, screenwriter, singer and actor. He was born on March 5th, 1974 in Paddington, London. His parents were Diana and John Stanley Lucas who ran a chauffeuring business. He is best known for his work with another British comedian and actor David Walliams on the sketch comedy television show "Little Britain". His is also known for his time on the comedy panel game Shooting Stars as the score keeping baby "George Dawes". He has since had featured roles in a few American films. In 2010 he played the dual role of "Tweedledee and Tweedledum" in Tim Burton's version of "Alice in Wonderland". In 2011, he appeared in the Krisen Wiig penned comedy "Bridesmaids" as 'Gil" her characters obnoxious English roommate.
On 14 June 2016, it was announced Lucas would be joining the BBC series Doctor Who for its tenth series, where he is set to reprise the character "Nardole", which he had played in the 2015 and 2016 Christmas specials, "The Husbands of River Song" and "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" respectively.
Lucas is gay and in 2006 he entered into a civil partnership with a television producer named Kevin Mcgee with a lavish ceremony. In 2008, their civil partnership was dissolved becoming one of Britain's most high profile dissolutions of a civil partnership.
