Megan Ganz was a writer on Community who joined the staff in Season Two. While attending the University of Michigan, she was editor-in-chief of The Michigan Every Three Weekly. She later interned at Mad Magazine in New York and then moved onto the news satire organization "The Onion" and became an assistant editor eventually being promoted to associate editor. She left the East Coast for Los Angeles working as a writer a Comedy Central sketch show "Important Things with Demetri Martin". In 2010, she was hired to writer for Community and stayed on staff for three years. On January 3rd 2013, once Season Four wrapped production, she announced on her Reddit account that she would be leaving the show and had accepted a position as a writer on the ABC sitcom "Modern Family".
