“
The secret inside me was trapped beyond a doubt but now my most terrible secrets out!
”
The Study Group

Sometime in their fourth year at Greendale, a general sense of malaise falls over the study group. Feeling stuck in a rut, they decide that they all need to do something exciting away from Greendale. The group goes on a hot air balloon ride hoping to ease their ennui but take off without their balloon guide. They land in a forest and after encountering a mountain man who gives them psychotropic truth telling berries, they set up camp. As they come down from the drugs they ingested, they reveal to each other their darkest secrets by singing the song "My Most Terrible Secret". The song is first heard in the Season Four episode "Intro to Felt Surrogacy".

The song with lyrics[]

Lyrics

Jeff:
I found the perfect girl for me
and then I met her kid.

I said it didn't bother me but truthfully it did.
I promised him I'd make it to a baseball game he had.
But I bailed and never called again
And now I'm just exactly like my dad.

Britta:
I am an activist, that's always been my choice.
Truth is Ive never voted except when I watch "The Voice".

Annie:
I was been struggling in History, I'm normally the best.
I let Cornwallis rub my feet to give me all the answers to the test.

Troy:
I caused the Greendale Fire of '03.
Fifty five acres went up in a blaze, all because I burned an ant hill!

The Study Group:
The secret inside me was trapped beyond a doubt but now my most terrible secrets out!

Balloon guide:
There you are. Come on guys.

Pierce:
I never slept with the great Eartha Kitt.
We dry-humped inside of her tour bus.

The Study Group:
The secret inside me was trapped beyond a doubt but now my most terrible secrets out!

Trivia[]

Adam Levine, lead singer and song writer of the band "Maroon 5", helped co-write this song. He was roommates at one time with the episode writer Gene Hong. He also provided the melody which was taken from an unreleased song from Adam's previous band "Kara's Flowers" titled "Angel in Blue Jeans".
