In the study group's third year at Greendale, Troy and Abed decide to move in together and invite their friends to a house warming party to celebrate. After they settle in to play a game of Yahtzee, the pizza delivery guy arrives. As they are unable to buzz him up, someone had to be chosen to go downstairs to get the pizza. Jeff used the roll of a die to determine who would go ignoring Abed's warning that his actions would result in the creation of six different timelines. As Abed predicted, six different timelines then unfold and in everyone of those scenarios Britta attempted to liven up the party by playing a song on her iPod, "Roxanne". In each instance when she tried to sing along with it, Jeff shut her down. In the prime timeline she finally managed to sing the sing when Jeff is chosen by the group to get the pizza. The song was first heard in the Season Three episode "Remedial Chaos Theory". It was written and performed by The Police from their album "Outlandos d'Amour".
Song and LyricsEditLyrics:
- On Community The Complete Third Season DVD commentaries, Joel McHale asked how much they had to pay to use "Roxanne". Chris McKenna mentioned they had to get Sting to sign off on it and it cost enough that they weren't able to afford music on the show for awhile. He added jokingly that's why they had kept using "Daybreak" which was presumably a lot cheaper.
- Britta mentions in "The Art of Discourse" that she met Sting in a Cracker Barrel.
