The stage assistant helped Matt Lundergard when casting his play based on the movie "The Karate Kid ". He called actors to the stage for their audition and read lines from the script with them during the process. The assistant called Ben Chang to the stage for his turn and he was quickly cast as "Mr. Miyagi". Chang's friend Annie Edison got herself a part too as "Daniel Larusso" and the assistant would later watch them rehearse alongside Matt. He was also present when Annie quit the production after another of Matt's brutal critiques of Chang's performance.

Blake was a husband and father who bought a giant hand from Dean Pelton on eBay. Years ago he and his wife Karen lost their son in a freak accident. This involved a giant kite which carried him away and he was never seen again. Since then Blake became obsessed with buying oversized objects on the Internet, the latest being a giant watch which he hoped to pair with his latest purchase. When the hand never showed up his wife confronted him about where he was channelling his grief. Blake owned up to this but also added he wanted the giant hand in case his son was alive and waiting for a better daddy with a bigger hand. When Karen tells him she's going to walk the dog and eventually leave him Blake responds that he'll put the watch in the garage and also stop showering.

Once the 2015 school year had ended, the Save Greendale Committee was at "The Vatican" bar discussing what might happen after summer when the next semester begins. Taking a meta approach from Abed they each began pitching ideas in the form of a new Season of a television show. Ben Chang's idea was to introduce a new member to the group, a stop motion animated character called "Ice Cube Head". He was just as his name described and had an appetite for cellphones which he said to him tasted like prime rib. Ice Cube Head could also fire blue energy beams from his fingers that he claimed could solve any problem. As soon as Pelton joined in and started dancing Jeff had enough of Chang's pitch and declared he was going home.

Takashi is a Japanese student who texted Dean Pelton pretending to be Jeff Winger. His father chewed him out for his high phone bill and Takashi was left depressed by his disparaging words. He texted Pelton looking for a friend to talk to and even admitted he wasn't Jeff. When Pelton refused to believe him Takashi resolved to not be like his father. It's then revealed the incident led to him later becoming the head of the Yakuza known as "Oyabun".
Trivia
Oyabun in Japanese literally means "Foster parent" and is the top position in the country's criminal mafia organization known as the Yakuza . The hierarchy is based on the structure of Oyabun-koban; this is a compact in which people who are usually not related agree to share certain obligations as those with actual blood ties would.

"Warden" was present in study room for the Professor emeritus ceremony for telepresence convict "Willy". He revealed that "Willy" was a wrongly convicted felon which ruined the persona Willy had built at Greendale. After being taunted by Jeff's telepresence unit, Willy fought Jeff's unit and won but Dean Pelton turned Willy's unit off and carried Jeff's unit out of the room. After witnessing this display, the Warden exclaimed his disbelief at what he'd seen and what Dean Pelton had allowed to occur.

Throughout the series an actor named Andy Lobo is used as a frequent background extra. He is notable for his shoulder length brown hair. In Season Six Lobo appears in 10 episodes. He was the first person served a burnt sandwich by Britta at Shirley's Sandwiches, was in the audience at Chang's "Karate Kid" play (sitting behind Dean Pelton), was at the Natalie Is Freezing concert, danced at "Club Club" with Jeremy, was in law class when Garrett proposed to Stacy and was at their wedding. In total he appears in over 65 episodes.
