Teddy Pierce is Abed's re-imagining of what Pierce would be like as an animated stop motion Christmas cartoon character. He goes on a journey in Abed's mind to discover the true meaning of Christmas. His first and only appearance was in "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas".
After Abed has what appears to be an emotional breakdown of some kind, Britta and Jeff stage an intervention for him headed up by Professor Ian Duncan and attended by the rest of the study group. Duncan convinces Abed to undergo hypnosis in order to get to the root of his problem. While he is under, he imagines that everyone has been transported to another world called "Planet Abed". There they are all transformed into Christmas cartoon versions of themselves. In Abed's mind, Pierce has become "Teddy Pierce". Abed wants to take the study group on a journey to the North Pole to discover the true meaning of Christmas. As "The Christmas Wizard", Duncan convinces him to take a shortcut through the "Cave of Frozen Memories".
After going through "Carol Canyon", the remaining group makes it to "The Cave of Frozen Memories". Abed foils Duncan's attempts to get him to open up by tricking him into recalling a painful childhood memory. The professor then abandons the session. Abed says that nobody working with the professor could be allowed to accompany him the rest of the way. After Troy Soldier and Ballerannie go on ahead Teddy Pierce joins them, reminding everyone he only came for the cookies (and was therefore not especially on the professor's side). Abed follows them after leaving Britta Bot behind. They all take a route which leads to a train station where they hop a train to take them to the North Pole.
As they all settle in, Teddy Pierce excuses himself to use the bathroom. Ballerannie discusses how being the child of a Jewish mother and Presbyterian father made the holidays tough to deal with. Abed then opens up about a Christmas ritual he and his mother had. Every December 9th she would visit him and they would watch Christmas cartoons. Ballerannie and Troy Soldier share worried looks when Abed refuses to acknowledge its already the ninth of December. The Christmas Wizard suddenly reappears claiming to have discovered the reasons behind his strange behavior. Abed flees not wanting to hear what he has to say and makes his way to the top of the train. While Troy Soldier subdues The Christmas Wizard, Ballerannie unhitches the conductors cab Abed is on from the rest of the train allowing him to escape. Teddy Pierce returns from the bathroom and rejoins Abed in the cab, having missed the altercation entirely.
Abed and Teddy Pierce eventually makes it to the North Pole. After finding a red herring left by The Christmas Wizard, Duncan forces Abed to confront the real reason behind his actions. A letter Duncan found in his dorm room reveals that his mom wouldn't be visiting him for Christmas this year. Abed goes into a catatonic when confronted with this and literally freezes in place. Teddy Pierce then chastises Duncan for putting Abed into this state. Duncan defends himself by saying that the holiday has causes others to feel despair because of unhealthy expectations from it. Ballerannie along with the rest of the study group then make a sudden reappearance. They denounce Duncan's assertion that Christmas is at fault for Abed's condition.
The study group replies that Christmas is the time of the year for hope, and they can make that belief a reality by supporting each other. Duncan scoffs at this notion and the study group decide to make their point more clear by attacking him with "Christmas weapons" while they sing a song. Abed starts to thaw as this is happening responding to his friends fighting for him. Ballerannie finishes off The Christmas Wizard by summoning the "Christmas Pterodactyl" to grab him. As the remote controlled creature flies off with the wizard, Ballerannie activates the self destruct device blowing both of them up. Abed thanks the group for their efforts and they all "return" to the study room. Annie and the rest of the study group decide to uphold Abed's yearly tradition with his mom and watch Christmas cartoons together in his dorm room ("Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas").
