They are no longer a study group really and two members are leaving/have left. A new group has been formed out of the original one with possibly Chang and Duncan joining as well. Should this "Save Greendale Committee" be counted as a separate group with its own article page? Or should this committee still be considered "The Study Group"?
It's tricky and I can go back and forth but in the end I think the Save Greendale Committee is a separate thing and exists only when Professor Hickey is in attendance. It really is a committee with a specific purpose (even though it's clearly a narrative device to put the group together regularly) so I don't think it's the same thing as The Study Group. It's at least worth putting as a subsection on the Study Group page but I could see it as needing its own page if it continues to show up. So far it's been in three out of four episodes and I might change my opinion as the season progresses. Do we know how many episodes Johnathan Banks will be in? Is he here just for Season Five?
That said, there's not much of a reason for the group to congregate around the table anymore except tradition. In Cooperative Polygraphy they all came to the study table after the funeral but it didn't really make sense to do so. We're just so used to seeing them there that we don't question it. It would have made more sense to go to Denny's. I don't know if they're planning on adding a character once Troy leaves but since Hickey isn't there all the time I think the five that are left still constitute "The Study Group" even though the title doesn't mean anything anymore. If they had left Greendale in season five (as Dan Harmon seemed to have intended) they'd still be The Study Group.
I think the Save Greendale Committee is definitely an extension of the Study Group, it's just their reason for being around the table now since Jeff is a teacher and therefore doesn't study. It was also a way to incorporate new members since they knew Pierce and Troy would be gone. Duncan, Chang, and Hickey are definitely new members of the Save Greendale Committee/Study Group.
Ken Jeong actually retweeted a fan who said he 'joined the group' today. Also if the point about this page being just about them as a 'study group' then it should end at Season 4. The study group/Save Greendale Committee are just plot contrivances to put the characters together, it's all the same thing. I know it pains people to see Pierce and Troy gone, but they're gone and they're trying to replace them to keep the show going.
Other than Cooperative Polygraphy, and part of Repiloting, the original members of The Study Group haven't been together unless it was the Committee which seems to include Chang and Duncan (which I like). I think the Save Greendale Committee needs its own page and the Season Five section of The Study Group should have a subsection for The Save Greendale Committee. There still might be Study Group activity that isn't Committee related; the season's not quite half over.
The description for the next episode says that Jeff helps Duncan gets a date with Britta and that Abed bumps into Hickey on his way to the movies. The study group or whatever it was is incorporating different people in now.

Well, just because they're interacting with different people doesn't mean those people are now in the group. That said, there may not be a group anymore. Are they evolving beyond dependence on a group? There seems to be a deliberate attempt this season to leave behind some of the things that have been a part of the show and change things up. And they had to figure out what to do without Pierce or Troy. It's hard to be objective in the middle of it. That's why I think we won't really know until the season is done.
I have to agree with Quarn and take a wait and see approach. Personally I think the Study Group is and always will be just the original seven members. The group joined the committee, the committee and it's members didn't join them. Much in the same way Troy and Abed were a separate "group" while within the study group, I believe the study group will always be a group unto themselves within the committee.
I kind if wish you had waited until the Season was over before doing that, if you read these posts we had all agreed to wait. Also the article is basically 98% cut and pasted from The Study Group page, there has to be more original content.
